At the Barcelona Cybersecurity Conference 2025, I presented “PreventUEBA: AI-Powered Cyber Risk Prevention for Smarter Security”, an innovative solution developed at the Internet Research Centre that focuses on shifting cybersecurity from reactive detection to proactive risk prevention.

PreventUEBA leverages machine learning to analyse user behaviour patterns and assess exposure to cyber threats before incidents occur. Unlike traditional UEBA solutions that focus primarily on anomaly detection, PreventUEBA introduces a prevention-first approach by modelling behavioural taxonomies, calculating dynamic risk levels, and providing actionable mitigation strategies to reduce organisational attack surfaces.

The solution integrates seamlessly with existing SIEM platforms, enhancing their capabilities with predictive analytics and enabling security teams to prioritise high-risk users and behaviours more effectively. Developed through collaborative research with leading institutions, PreventUEBA represents a next-generation approach to cybersecurity, where understanding human behaviour becomes a key defensive asset.

This work was recognised with the Industry Solution Awards 2025 for Cybersecurity Innovation, highlighting its impact and potential in advancing proactive security strategies.
